Hi, I’m Connie.

Owner/Lead Midwife

I am a Licensed Midwife (LM) and Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) in Northern Michigan. I was born and raised in Canada and moved to Michigan in 2016 to pursue midwifery. In 2018 I became a midwife. I became licensed in Michigan in 2020 and in 2022 I took over Dance of Life Midwifery. I attended the MEAC accredited school Birthwise Midwifery School and was directly trained under previous owner Kathi Mulder, as well as a few other Northern Michigan Midwives.

I was drawn to pregnancy and birth from a young age and knew that this was the path I should take. After careful consideration I found myself in Maine starting the process of becoming a Midwife. Then I made my way to Michigan where I found home. Home in midwifery and home in my heart.

In my free time my husband, Rob and I love to wander the woods and tend to our flock of chickens and large yard. I also love reading, swimming and ice skating.

Pregnancy and birth are a miracle, I can’t believe it happens everyday.

Dance of Life midwifery, llc

Dance of Life Midwifery was first started in 1995 by Kathi Mulder, LM, CPM. Who passed along her wisdom and business to me. It is now time to carry on Kathi’s legacy of traditional midwifery with a modern spin.

Midwifery care is about education and empowerment through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenthood.

The birth of a child is also the birth of a family.

The midwife’s role is a guardian over this process.

I bring my knowledge, training, skills, and equipment to facilitate the process.

The most important tools are the heart and hands.
